Fans of Sunrisers Hyderabad were once again left disappointed after the mistakes of skipper David Warner in the Super-Over cost the team two points after Delhi Capitals defeated SRH off the last ball of the Super-Over. This was also the first super-over clash of the ongoing 2021 season of the Indian Premier League.
Both the teams had scored 159 runs in their given 20 overs. Batting first in the Super-Over, SRH scored 7 off Axar Patel and DC scored 8 in their turn, which was bowled by Rashid Khan.
Skipper David Warner and Kane Williamson walked out to bat for Sunrisers Hyderabad in the Super-Over. While Kane looked confident after his fighting knock of 66* runs, Jonny Bairstow stood padded up at the boundary line. From experts to fans, many questioned why Bairstow was not in the middle for SRH, even as Warner has been struggling to time the ball on Chepauk’s pitch.

And as it happened, Warner was caught out on a short-run off the last ball of the SRH’s super-over, as he failed to slide his bat over the non-striker’s end. The 3rd umpire caught the mistake and as per the new rule, one run was deducted from SRH’s tally of 8 runs.
SRH could manage to hit just one boundary, setting an easy target of 8-runs for Delhi Capitals, who knocked off the required runs successfully despite the brilliance of Rashid Khan.
Meanwhile, as soon as Sunrisers Hyderabad lost the game, social media was flooded with reactions from the fans on it. Fans of SRH started trolling skipper David Warner and team management for their mistakes, which cost them two points in the points table.
Here, check out the reactions of Twitterati on this:
Lmao Warner’s one short run cost SRH. Literally Warner in super over cost the game.

SRH doesn’t deserve superovers. Just play rock paper scissors with them if they ever tie again.

SRH doesn't deserve him…just so sad 💔💔
Trade him to some good team which gives him at least some importance and respect, I don't wanna see him disrespected like this 😔 pic.twitter.com/6WZfmPp1Yk— Ryan (@RyanIke4) April 25, 2021
Commentators talking about LHB-RHB combination in Super Over. SRH management should be happy there are people more braindead than them. #DCvsSRH

What a champion over by Rashid. Almost defended 7 there!! The one-short has come back to hurt SRH badly. The ‘Why no Jonny’ question will get amplified now & rightly so. Kane’s knock goes in vain. SRH end Chennai leg with 1/5 wins. Their chances look bleak now. #Sad
