Delhi Capitals’ star opener Prithvi Shaw set the floor on fire at the Narendra Modi Stadium in a match against Kolkata Knight Riders as he smashed six fours in the first over of his team’s run chase. Shaw became the second batter to smash 6 fours in the first over of a T20 inning, the first one to achieve this feat is Ajinkya Rahane.
Chasing a target of 154 runs, all thanks to Prithvi Shaw, Delhi Capitals started their run chase on an incredibly aggressive note. KKR’s Shivam Mavi became the victim of Prithvi Shaw’s masterclass. In the very first over bowled by Shivam, Shaw smashed six deliveries to the boundary rope. Though Mavi started off with a wide however ended up conceding fours on the next 6 deliveries.
Following the wide delivery, Shaw hit the next delivery over the bowler’s head for a boundary. Shaw then whipped the next ball over midwicket and the next ball through off-side.
The fourth delivery was a low full toss outside off, which Shaw smashed through the covers. The right-hander then hit the next ball through backward point before finishing the over with a flourishing drive-through extra cover. Shaw gave a powerful performance and brought up his 50 off just 18 balls, which is the joint second-fastest half-century for DC. On the other hand, Kolkata Knight Riders conceded 25 runs in the first over itself.
Meanwhile, fans on social media went berserk and flooded the social media with their amazing reactions to the performance of Prithvi Shaw. From amazing reactions to memes, people on social media are hailing the brilliance of Shaw.
