Amidst all this, numerous reports went viral, suggesting that Kohli has taken break because of his mother’s health. However, Vikas Kohli, the elder brother of renowned Indian cricketer Virat Kohli, recently addressed rumors on Instagram regarding their mother Saroj Kohli’s health.
Vikas Kohli took to his social media and emphasized the importance of not spreading misinformation without verified details. Vikas clarified that Kohli’s absence is not because of their mother’s health as she is absolutely fit. He also urged the fans to not to disseminate unverified information. Vikas wrote:
“I have noticed that there is this fake news about our mom’s health been circulating around. Let me clear that our mom is absolutely fit and fine. Also I would request everyone and also the media, not to spread such news without proper information. Thanks everyone for your concern,”

Earlier, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has appealed to fans and media to respect Virat Kohli’s privacy and abstain from speculating about the reasons behind his decision to withdraw from the initial two matches of the five-Test series against England.

In the ongoing series, India is set to face the absence of not only Virat Kohli but also KL Rahul and Ravindra Jadeja, both ruled out of the second Test match commencing on February 2 due to injury concerns. Ravindra Jadeja sustained a hamstring injury, while KL Rahul suffered a thigh injury during the initial Test match, which India lost to England.
