Find Out Why Indian Cricketers Wore The Black Band On Their Arms

The 4th Test match between India and England has been going on in full swing. With both the teams tied at 1-1, the 4th test match holds a lot of importance for both teams. Meanwhile, the Indian cricketers walked out wearing black armbands in the fourth Test match at The Oval against England.

Yes, Virat Kohli and his team were seen wearing black armbands as they walked out on the field. The gesture was made by the Indian side to pay their respect to former Indian cricketer Vasudev Paranjape, who passed away recently.

For the unversed, the cricket world was left heartbroken after former Indian cricketer Vasudev Paranjape, who passed away at his residence in Matunga in Mumbai on August 30. The 82-year-old cricketer is survived by his wife and son Jatin, who is an ex-national selector and India player.

As soon as the news of his demise came out social media was flooded with the reactions of cricketers, who expressed their grief on Paranjape’s demise.

Before the match kickstarted at The Oval, the BCCI took to their Twitter and shared a picture of the Indian cricket wearing the black-arm bands. Sharing the picture, the BCCI revealed the reason. They wrote:

The Indian Cricket Team is sporting black armbands today to honour the demise of Shri Vasudev Paranjpe,”

Later on, the Tweet also caught the attention of Vasudev Paranjape’s son Jatin Paranjape, who is an ex-national selector and India player. He came up with a quick reply where he expressed hos the Paranjape family was touched by the gesture of the Indian cricketers. He wrote:
