Former Indian Cricketer Slammed Indian Fans For Lack Of Sportsman Spirit: The Indian cricket team has found itself at the receiving end of criticism and trolling after they lost the inaugural edition of the ICC World Test Championship Final against New Zealand at the Ageas Bowl, Southampton. The Indian skipper Virat Kohli lost the high-voltage final by 8 wickets against the Kiwis.

Fans were left heartbroken after team India lost the WTC Final and they have been trolling the Indian team ever since then. Fans are even demanding the BCCI to sack the Indian skipper, Virat Kohli from the position of captaincy.

Meanwhile former Indian cricketer Kirti Azad has come out in support of Virat Kohli and his squad. During a conversation with NDTV, Kirti Azad slammed the Indian fans for lack of sportsman spirit. As per him, because of the one loss, the Indian fans have forgotten the success team India enjoyed in the last two years. He said:

“I think once you lose, you will say that there is no killer instinct. That’s not the point. The point is that you generally play to win. And in India, we basically have the winning spirit and not a sportsman spirit in public. If somebody plays better and wins, then you should appreciate it but here it’s brickbat all the time.”

Kirti Azad also shut down all the critics for comparing the current Indian squad to the 1983 World Cup-winning team under the leadership of Kapil Dev. Talking about the comparison, Kirti Azad said:

“I feel that it’s nothing. There is no difference. I remember the run out of Yashpal ji when he ran Alan Lamb out with a direct hit. What you see Ravindra Jadeja is doing today, he (Yashpal) was doing it then,”
