Royal Challengers Bangalore- RCB who finished fourth in the last IPL season has released a lot of star players and has retained only 12 players. They have released the likes of Chris Morris, Aaron Finch, Moeen Ali, and Shivam Dube which means they have to do a lot of shopping in this year’s auction. Many people were surprised with Chris Morris being released but Mike Hesson said that his lack of game time and constant injuries are a concern along with his huge price tag.
RCB has also traded two players – Daniel Sams and Harshal Patel from Delhi Capitals. Sams is a left-arm seamer who can hit some big sixes and Harshal Patel is a decent pacer who is often used as a pinch-hitter in the shortest format. RCB has 13 slots in total out of which four are overseas. They have a purse of 35.90 CR which is a huge amount. So, let’s have a look at the four players RCB should target in IPL 2021 Auction.
4. Kyle Jamieson

Kyle Jamison has had a dream start to his international career. The tall fast bowler has picked up wickets for fun in the Test format as he has picked up 36 wickets in 6 matches at an average of 13.3 with four five-wicket hauls to his name. He has even scored runs at an average of 56.5 even though it has been inflated by some not outs.
Jamieson is the talk of the town and will be one of the guys to look out for in the Auction. RCB has released Morris and this guy seems to be the perfect replacement for him. Mike Hesson who is from New Zealand will know him and would like to buy him in this year’s Auction. He could be a wicket-taker for RCB and hence they should target Jamieson in this year’s auction.
3. Dawid Malan
Dawid Malan who is the No.1 T20I player in the world will be in huge demand in this year’s auction. Over the years there have been talks about RCB needing some batsman to support Virat Kohli and AB De Villiers and Dawid Malan might be that guy. Malan is one of those players who keep scoring runs at a brisk pace. He doesn’t hit big sixes, but he finds the gaps, runs hard, and scores at a good rate.
Malan will enjoy the pitch at the Chinnaswamy Stadium, and he can bat at No.3 or No.4 depending on where Virat and AB bat. Malan’s consistency is unbelievable and that could be key for RCB if they manage to get him in this year’s auction.
2. Mitchell Starc
Mitchell Starc has openly said that he would be interested in playing this year’s IPL as he is planning to prepare for the 2021 T20 World Cup which will take place in India later this year. Starc who has been a part of the RCB team previously has missed many IPL seasons due to an injury or workload management.
Starc is one of the best T20 bowlers and there is no doubt that most of the teams will raise the paddle when his name comes out of the bag in the Auction. Starc has played in Bangalore and has performed well for them. He could put an end to RCB’s death bowling issues and so RCB should bid heavily for Mitchell Starc in this auction.
1. Glenn Maxwell
Just imagine Virat Kohli, AB De Villiers and Glenn Maxwell lined up in the same team. It would be a nightmare for the opposition bowlers as these three players will keep coming at them. RCB needs to fill the No.5 slot and who better than Glenn Maxwell to fill in that spot. Maxwell hasn’t performed well in the IPL, but you never know this might be his year.
The pitch at the Chinnaswamy stadium might just suit him, and we might get to see the best of Glenn Maxwell. Once Maxwell gets on a roll, he can win 3-4 games in a season and RCB fans will be hoping for that if RCB manages to get him in this year’s auction.
