Four Players SRH Should Target In IPL Auction 2021

Sunrisers Hyderabad who made the playoffs in the last season but lost in the second Qualifier has stuck with the same set of players for the upcoming season. They have released very few players which means they are showing faith in this squad and rightly so. SRH is a well-managed side as they have the likes of Trevor Bayliss, VVS Laxman, and Muttiah Muralitharan in their coaching staff.

Tom Moody who was their head coach has returned to the team as the Director of Cricket Operations from this season. SRH has a formidable opening pair but their middle-order doesn’t quite fire as it should. The likes of Abdul Samad and Priyam Garg had good debut seasons but there are more expectations from Manish Pandey and Vijay Shankar. They have released Billy Stanlake who was their only overseas pacer, and they might look for an overseas fast bowler in the auction. So, let’s have a look at the four players SRH should target in IPL Auction 2021.

4. Kedar Jadhav

Sunrisers Hyderabad would like an experienced player in the middle-order who might not play all the games in the season but could come in handy on some slow wickets. Kedar Jadhav is a good player of spin, and he might be the match-winner in those conditions. Jadhav was in decent form in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy.

He had a poor season in the last IPL which means there is a high chance that he might be available at a cheaper price in this year’s auction. SRH should target Kedar Jadhav who could be a good option for the middle-order.

3. Shivam Dube

If SRH needs a young player in the middle-order then they can go with the option of Shivam Dube. RCB has released Shivam Dube who will be available in the auction. Dube has the experience of international cricket, and he will be a perfect No.5 or No.6 for a team with a strong top order.

He can take on the bowlers from the start of his innings and he can also chip in with some overs if the captain needs them. Dube had a couple of good scores in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy and SRH should look to fit him in their middle-order for the upcoming IPL season.

2. Harbhajan Singh

SRH has the best T20 leg-spinner, but they don’t have enough Indian spinners in their team. They have filled their squad with 4-5 Indian pacers but don’t have those many options in the spin department. Shahbaz Nadeem and Abhishek Sharma are the two main options but both of them are left-arm spinners. Harbhajan Singh who has been released by the Chennai Super Kings could be the perfect off-spinner for them.

The likes of VVS Laxman and Muralitharan know him and he can bring in all his experience in crucial games for SRH. Harbhajan Singh along with Rashid Khan could form a formidable pair and SRH should think of getting the veteran spinner in the IPL auction.

1. Jhye Richardson

Sunrisers Hyderabad

Sunrisers Hyderabad would be looking for an overseas fast bowler to replace Billy Stanlake and Jhye Richardson seems to be the perfect guy. Richardson hits the deck hard; he can swing the new ball and has a good yorker in the death overs. He is currently the leading wicket-taker in the BBL.

He can also hit a few big ones late in the innings which is always helpful. SRH doesn’t have a lot of money in their purse, but they can buy Jhye Richardson if he is coming at a decent price because he is a talented cricketer who can turn out to be a brilliant buy.
