The first innings of the match for CSK, started off with a bad note as their star player, Ambatti Rayudu had to return back to pavilion scored only 12 runs off 9 bowls. Suresh Raina, the star player of IPL was in a great form tonight as he played another brilliant league by scoring 52 runs off the 35 balls, hitting 6 fours and 1 six. He was sent back to pavilion after he was caught out by Stuart Binny. Sam Billings was given run-out by Joss Buttler, after he scored 27 runs off 22 balls. MS Dhoni remained unbeaten at 33 runs which he made in 23 balls.

In the second innings, Jos Buttler stole all the limelight by playing an outstanding innings as he remained unbeaten at 95 runs that he scored in 60 balls. He smashed 11 fours and 2 sixes.

Ben Stokes and Ajinkya Rahane were sent back to pavilion after a few balls. Sanju Samson, the star of RR, scored 21 runs off 22 balls before he was declared ‘run-out’ by Suresh Raina.
Chennai Super Kings played great in both the innings and in all the three departments. The players of CSK however, they lost the match by 4 wickets.
