From Harsha Bhogle To Wasim Jaffer, Twitter Hails Axar Patel For His 6-Wicket Haul

The Indian cricket team is currently locking its horns with the England cricket team on Day1 of the much-awaited Pink-ball test at the Motera Stadium (now Narendra Modi Cricket Stadium). The talented Indian bowling line-up gave a hard-time to England’s batsmen. India’s Axar Patel picked a six-wicket haul and turned out to be the hero with the bat as the England batsmen struggled on the pitch to keep the runs flowing.

Axar kickstarted the game by dismissing Jonny Bairstow for a duck. Bairstow only lasted nine balls for no runs before he was sent back to the pavilion by Axar Patel. By lunchtime, Axar Patel has already snapped two out of the four wickets.

Axar’s second victim became Zak Crawley, who was one of the top-scorer for the visitors with 53 runs. Zak Crawley played an amazing knock and scored 53 runs off 84 balls, hitting 10 fours. Axar then went on to dismiss England’s vice-captain, Ben Stokes, who was removed after scoring 6 runs off 24 balls.

Jofra Archer, Stuart Broad, and keeper-batsman Ben Foakes became the next three wickets of the Gujarat-born bowler. England cricket team could only last for 48.4 overs on-field, all thanks to the stunning performances of the Indian bowlers. While Axar picked six scalps, on the other hand, Ashwin and Ishant Sharma picked three and one wicket respectively.
