From Suresh Raina To Mithali Raj, List Of Cricketers Who Have Contributed To PM CARES Fund

Hours after Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced a special emergency fund for the nation to battle the dangerous COVID-19 pandemic, many celebrities and prominent people from all walks of life came out to support PM Modi in this battle by pledging to contribute to raising funds.

Suresh Raina, the middle-order Indian cricketer was amongst the first ones to come out and donate money towards PM-CARES Fund. He took to his Twitter and announced that he will donate a sum of Rs. 31 Lakh towards PM-CARES FUND and RS. 21 Lakh towards UP CM Relief Fund. He wrote:
“It’s time we all do our bit to help defeat 
#COVID19. I’m pledging ₹52 lakh for the fight against #Corona (₹31 lakh to the PM-CARES Fund & ₹21 lakh to the UP CM’s Disaster Relief Fund). Please do your bit too. Jai Hind!#StayHomeIndia @narendramodi @PMOIndia @myogiadityanath”

Former Indian cricketer and politician Gautam Gambhir also took to his Twitter and pledged to donate Rs. 1 crore from his MP Local Area Development Scheme (MPLADS) to fight COVID-19 along with his one month’s salary to the Central Relief Fund. He wrote:
“It is time that all resources of the country be directed towards fighting COVID-19. Have released INR 1 Crore from my MP LAD fund towards relief efforts. Have also donated one month’s salary towards the Central Relief Fund. United we stand!!,”

The Indian skipper Virat Kohli, along with his wife Anushka Sharma also pledged to support the country in this tough time. They took to their social media and announced that they will be financially contributing towards the PM CARES Fund, however, they didn’t disclose the amount.

Indian vice-captain Rohit Sharma also stepped forward to back our leaders during this crisis. He donated 45 Lakhs to PM CARES Fund, 25 Lakhs to CM Relief Fund Maharashtra, 5 Lakhs to Feeding India and 5 Lakhs to Welfare of Stray Dogs. He tweeted:

We need our country back on feet & the onus is on us. I’ve done my bit to donate 45lakhs to #PMCaresFunds, 25lakhs to #CMReliefFund Maharashtra, 5lakhs to @FeedingIndia and 5lakhs to #WelfareOfStrayDogs.Let’s get behind our leaders and support them @narendramodi @CMOMaharashtra

Indian test specialist and vice-skipper, Ajinkya Rahane also took to his twitter and urged everyone to contribute whatever the amount they can. He also revealed his donation but he didn’t disclose the amount. Though if rumors are to be believed then he donated a sum of Rs.10 Lakhs. Here, check out his tweet:

Indian woman cricketer Poonam Yadav contributed a sum of Rs 2 Lakh. In her tweet, Poonam Yadav urged everyone to contribute in order to beat the pandemic. Here, check out her Tweet:

Mithali Raj, the skipper of the Indian women cricket team also stepped forward and contributed a sum of Rs. 10 Lakh. She wrote:
“All of us need to join hands in this fight against the deadly coronavirus. I pledge to contribute my little bit – Rs. 5 lakh to The PM – CARES Fund and Rs 5 lakh to the Telangana Chief Minister’s Relief Fund”

Before the lockdown started Irfan Pathan and Yusuf Pathan did some help on the ground level. They distributed 4000 face masks to the needy people.
