Australian cricketer Marnus Labuschagne left everyone in splits with his on-field gesture in the Sydney Test match against South Africa. Marnus, who is known for his funny antics on the field, once again managed to grab everyone’s attention in the ongoing Test match between Australia and Proteas. The Australian batter took everyone by surprise by asking for a lighter during a live match.
Yes, you read that right. During his innings, Labuschagne was uncomfortable with something in his helmet and wanted to fix it by burning it. Thus, Marnus asked for a lighter but in an unusual yet hilarious. Marnus did a gesture of lighter first by mimicking smoking a cigarette. Not only Marnus conveyed that he wanted the lighter by shadow smoking but he also showed a couple of ways how it is done. Marnus’ gesture left everyone including the commentators in splits.
As the commentators laughed and recalled Marnus’ history with odd gestures, the Australian batter proceeded to burn the insides of his helmet. He was seemingly trying to remove lose fragments that might be coming into his eyeline. He finished his repairs with the helmet and went on to smash the Proteas pace attack.

Marnus continued with his stunning form against the Proteas in the final Test match of the series. He played a stunning knock, where he faced some quality fast bowlers. He remained not out at 73 before bad light stopped play. Besides Labuschagne, Usman Khawaja continued his brilliance and scored his individual half century.
Australia is currently 2-0 up in the ongoing Test series and are currently leading the World Test Championship points table. The Australian side will be visiting team India for a four match Test series in February.
