Much to the excitement of the Delhi Daredevils fans, their local boy and the handsome opener, Gautam Gambhir has come back to the Delhi Daredevils camp. After not being retained by the Delhi Daredevils, Gautam Gambhir expressed a wish to be added to the Delhi Daredevils. That’s exactly what has happened.
Gambhir has returned to the Delhi Daredevils and he’s is very happy about it. Gambhir has joined the Delhi Daredevils after being sold to the devils for 2.8 crores. The batsman had kept his base price at 2 crores.
Delhi Daredevils have also got themselves Glen Maxwell for 9 crores. Gautam Gambhir has scored 4133 runs in the Indian Premier League at a strike rate of 124. He’s been instrumental in the success of the Kolkata Knight Riders ever since his stint with the KKR.

Getting Maxwell and Gautam Gambhir will make Delhi Daredevils fancy their chances to win their first title. They already have a great pool of retained players in Shreyas Iyer, Rishabh Pant and South African all rounder Chris Morris. This forms a great batting line up for the Delhi Daredevils already.
Even in the past, Gambhir had expressed his desire of finishing his career with Delhi Daredevils.
“I think my heart is still with Delhi. I played for three years for Delhi (Daredevils). Somewhere, deep within my heart, I’d love to finish with Delhi,” he had told Hindustan Times even though he was a Kolkata Knight Riders player at that time.
Let’s see how this ploy works for Delhi and for that we would only have to wait for the Indian Premier League to unleash its package this year.
