India’s batting woes have been the main reason for the series defeat and Indian captain in the post match press conference has agreed to the fact that betting has let the team down.

Former Indian opener, Gautam Gambhir has come out in support of Virat Kohli and has said that two losses do no make the team bad. Gambhir in a Tweet said that there’s no point being over the top critical and rather we should appreciate the opposition.

Here’s what Gautam Gambhir Tweeted:

Its time to show support for Indian team and not being over-the-top critical. This was the team that had such a fabulous run, two games don’t make them bad. Rather than being severe on our boys, let’s just give credit to d opposition @BCCI. Simple: Well played @OfficialCSA

Gambhir makes sense

Gautam Gambhir has actually made a lot of sense with this Tweet. Fans in India are slamming the team being over the top critical but we should rather stand in support of the team that has done so well in the past years.

With this series loss, India’s streak of 9 series win has finally been broken by South Africa and you got to say that they outdid India in all departments of the game. India did put up a fight in the first innings with the captain playing a staggering knock of 153 but in the second innings no Indian batsman could go past 50.

The pacers did well even at Centurion but the loss is the courtesy of the batsmen yet again just like it was the case at Cape Town. From dropping catches to throwing away wickets, India has made a lot of mistakes in the second test which eventually cost them the match. India would only want to learn from these mistakes.

For his clinical performance with the ball, Lungi Ngidi was adjudged the Man Of Match. In what turned out to be a dream debut for the 21 year old, Ngidi picked up 7 wickets in the game, 6 of which came in the second innings.
