Gautam Gambhir Gives The Best Advice To Indian Players For T20 World Cup 2024

Former India batsman Gautam Gambhir has advised the Indian players to not try to “create an image” in the public eye, but instead “be yourself” and play with freedom in the T20 World Cup 2024.

Still recovering from the heartbreak of the World Cup 2023 final loss at home, Team India will travel to the West Indies and USA for the T20 World Cup 2024 in June. India were knocked out in the semi-final of the T20 World Cup 2022 in Adelaide by England, who won the title defeating Pakistan in the final at the MCG.

India’s T20 cricket, in the opinion of many, remains in the past era with batters often getting accused of playing for milestones. But Rohit Sharma has been trying to change such methods with his aggressive mentality and attacking batting, which lit up the World Cup 2023 for India.

Who better to give some advice to the Indian players than India’s top-scorer in the 2007 T20 World Cup final vs Pakistan, Gautam Gambhir?

On Friday, the KKR mentor held a Question&Answer session with his fans on Twitter where he answered various types of questions.

When journalist Madhav Sharma, with Twitter handle @HashTagCricket, asked Gambhir to give his advice to the Indian players for big games like the T20 World Cup 2024, the KKR mentor gave this reply: “Don’t fall for creating an image. Be yourself!”

In a recent video for brand Thums Up, Gautam hailed the England cricket team for their team-first and attacking mentality, saying that England bat in T20 cricket as it’s meant to be.

When asked which teams would be a threat to India in the T20 WC, Gambhir said: “Afghanistan, in those conditions can be very very dangerous. Australia, because they have got impact players, and England because they play T20 cricket the way it should be played.”
