Gautam Gambhir Hits Out At MS Dhoni Again For His Captaincy

There’s no denying the fact that MS Dhoni is one of the most successful captains around the world. He took the Indian cricket team to the number 1 position. It was under him that the Indian cricket team won all the three ICC trophies.

While the cricketers around the world draw inspiration from the legendary captain, former cricketer Gautam Gambhir has once again mocked MS Dhoni by raising questions on MS Dhoni’s captaincy skills.

Well, Gautam Gambhir criticizing MS Dhoni is nothing new and clearly both the cricketers are not in good terms.

And once again Gautam Gambhir has gone on record to slam MS Dhoni for his rotational policy during the 2012 CB series in Australia. Ahead of the 2012’s series involving Australia and Sri Lanka, MS Dhoni had rotated the three senior players of the team: Virender Sehwag, Sachin Tendulkar, and Gautam Gambhir.

The policy didn’t go too well and India was set to return back home without playing the finals. MS Dhoni decided to play all the three seniors but India still failed to make it to the clash.

Recently, talking to ‘Lallantop’, Gautam Gambhir opened up about his views on the rotational policy and criticized MS Dhoni for his decision. He said:

“I believe that one should follow the captain’s decision but it was complete cr*p. You started with the rotation policy but played all the three in the must-win games. If you make a decision, back your decision, stick to it.”

Gambhir went on to say that only for once he was feeling secure of his place in the squad and that was the time when he gave his best for the team. He said:

“I was made to feel secure just once. During that phase only, I became the ICC Test Player of the Year. India won the triangular series just once in Australia and I was the highest run-scorer. India won a Test series once in 40 years in New Zealand and I was the Man of the Series. I score five consecutive hundreds. This is why it is important to make young players feel secure.”
