Gautam Gambhir Paid Tributes To His Domestic Help After Performing Her Last Rites

Indian’s world cup winning cricketer and current politician Gautam Gambhir has a heart of gold. Time and again, Gautam Gambhir, with his humanitarian work, has proved that he is one of the kindest and down-to-earth men.

Recently, Gautam Gambhir performed the last rites of his domestic help named Smt. Saraswati Patra, who was working at his home for last 6 years. Due to the Coronavirus pandemic, the mortal remains of his domestic help couldn’t be sent to her home in Odisha, thus, Gautam Gambhir himself performed the last rites of her.

Gautam Gambhir Paid Tributes To His Domestic Help After Performing Her Last Rites

On Thursday, Gautam Gambhir took to his social media and shared a heartfelt tribute to her domestic help. In his tweet, he expressed that he always believe in dignity and thus he performed the last rites of his domestic help. He wrote:

“Taking care of my little one can never be domestic help. She was family. Performing her last rites was my duty. Always believed in dignity irrespective of caste, creed, religion or social status. Only way to create a better society. That’s my idea of India! Om Shanti”

Union Minister of Petroleum and Steel Dharmendra Pradhan was among the first one to have to come out and praised the humanitarian gesture of Gautam Gambhir. He took to his twitter and revealed how Gautam Gambhir was taking care of his househelp Saraswati Patra, who was suffering from diabetes and blood pressure for a prolonged period.

Dharmendra Pradhan also revealed that Gautam Gambhir performed the last rites of Smt. Saraswati as her mortal remains could not be sent to her family back home in Odisha. He wrote:

“Got to learn about the sad news of the demise of Smt. Saraswati Patra, a domestic help at Shri @GautamGambhir’s residence. A native of Jajpur district in Odisha, Saraswati was battling diabetes and blood pressure for a prolonged period.”

“Taking care of Saraswati throughout the course of her illness, he also ensured her dignity in death by performing her last rites himself since her mortal remains could not be sent to her family back home in Odisha. Thank Shri #GautamGambhir for this humanitarian gesture”
