Former India batsman and a current member of the Lok Sabha, Gautam Gambhir has expressed his anger toward the two people – Gos Mohammad and Riyaz – who have been arrested for the murder of Udaipur-based tailor Kanhaiya Lal.

On Tuesday, Kanhaiya Lal was brutally murdered, his throat sliced with a cleaver by the above-mentioned two men. A video was filmed by them which showed Kanhaiya Lal measuring one of the men before he was attacked.

These monsters in the flesh of men later gloated about the killing on camera in another released video and even went on to threaten Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The police said the tailor had received threats from certain organisations after his posts in support of Nupur Sharma in the prophet remarks row.

“The two killers were arrested from Rajsamand district’s Bhim area in Rajasthan,” said a report in Timesnownews. Fearing violence, the administration has declared curfew in parts of the city, and the murder is being treated as a terror incident

Gautam Gambhir Shared A Hard-Hitting Tweet:

Former Kolkata Knight Riders captain, Gautam Gambhir, who is part of the ruling party, Bharatiya Janata Party, put out a strong tweet.

First, he expressed great shock that a man – tailor Kanhaiya Lal – has been beheaded because of a social media post – in support of Nupur Sharma. Then, the 2-time World Cup winner said that it would be the death of the country’s judicial system if these arrested killers get away without severe punishment.

“BEHEADED for a social media post?” Gambhir tweeted.

“If they get away, it’s the death of our country!” he added.

Chief Minister of Delhi Arvind Kejriwal also put out a tweet, about the “horrifying and gruesome” incident in Udaipur and condemning it; he, too, demanded strict action against the two perpetrators.

Here is Delhi CM Kejriwal’s tweet:

उदयपुर की वारदात बेहद भयावह और वीभत्स है। ऐसे नृशंस कृत्य की सभ्य समाज में कोई जगह नहीं है। हम इसकी कड़े शब्दों में निंदा करते हैं। इस वारदात को अंजाम देने वाले अपराधियों को कड़ी सज़ा दी जाए।
