Gautam Gambhir Posted A Heart-Touching Message After Stepping Down From Captaincy

This IPL season is probably the worst season for Delhi Daredevils.Delhi Daredevils have lost five matches out of the six matches they have played till now.

Gautam Gambhir, who was the captain of Delhi Daredevils has took full responsibility for the drastic loss of the team and has now stepped down from the position of skipper  after giving back to back disappointing performances in the match.

Gautam Gambhir who was bought by the Delhi Daredevils team for the base price had clarified things in an interview and revealed that it was his decision. He said:
“It was my decision. I haven’t contributed enough to the team. I had to take the responsibility being the leader of the ship. I feel it was the right time.”

As soon as the news of his stepping down came out, his fans went berserk on social media as no one had expected such a bold move from the cricketer. In his tweet he cleared the air that were circulating on the social media. Here’s what he tweeted:

True, that I’ve stepped down from DD captaincy. Just to clarify it was my call, nothing from the management or coaching staff. I may not be leading from the front but I will be the last man standing for @DelhiDaredevils. No individual bigger than d team. Very much a #DilDIlli

The tweet read:

The place will now be filled by Shreyas Iyer, the young Indian cricketer who has been giving a lot of brilliant performance in the league.
Delhi Daredevils will be next seen playing against Kolkata Knight Riders on Friday.
