Suresh Raina’s exit from the league has left his fans heartbroken. The exact reason behind his exit from the game is still not known but he cited personal reasons behind his decision to pull out of IPL 2020. His exclusion for the team has come up like a big blow to the team, especially after two players were tested positive for Coronavirus.
Following the exit of Suresh Raina from the team, a debate regarding his replacement has started, with several cricketers and cricket experts sharing their views on the same. The latest one to join the debate is none other than the former Indian cricketer Gautam Gambhir.
Gautam Gambhir Wants MS Dhoni To Bat At This Position In IPL 2020
Gautam Gambhir has opined that the upcoming edition of the Indian Premier League is the perfect time for Chennai Super Kings’ skipper MS Dhoni to bat at number 3 as he has always wanted.
Gautam was asked about where MS Dhoni could bat for CSK in IPL 2020, Gambhir said:
“It’ll probably be a good opportunity for MS Dhoni to bat at No. 3. Why not, because he’s always said that he wants to bat at No. 3 or No. 4 – this is an ideal time. He’s been away from the game, and he’ll end up getting a lot more balls to face. He can actually play the anchor role as well.”

Gambhir further stated how CSK has a strong middle order and the team would need an experienced player after Suresh Raina’s exit from the team. He said:
“MS Dhoni at No. 3 and then they’ve got depth with Dwayne Bravo, Kedar Jadhav, Sam Curran. It’s going to be a great opportunity for someone like MS Dhoni and he’s going to relish that as well. Suresh Raina not being there, you’d want an experienced player at No. 3 and that player could be MS Dhoni. “
Meanwhile, IPL 2020 will kickstart from September 19th in UAE.
