Glenn Maxwell Gave An Epic Reaction When Asked About Signing Suryakumar Yadav For BBL

India’s sensational batter Suryakumar Yadav is in the form of his life and has been enjoying a dream run in the past year. He has consolidated his position at the top of the ICC’s T20I rankings for batters after his batting heroics during India’s successful T20I series in New Zealand. He played an unbeaten 111 off 51 balls in the second T20I against New Zealand.

The 2nd T20I match was the only match of the series that could be completed with the first one being washed out and the third ending in a tie after rain forced the match to be called off during India’s chase. SKY has been receiving praise from all corners all thanks to his sensational batting performances.

Even the best of the cricketers are sometimes left surprised by SKY’s 360-degree batting skills. The latest one to heap praises on SKY’s batting is star Australia all-rounder Glenn Maxwell. Speaking to The Grade Cricketer, Maxwell said SKY bats as he does and there’s no one who can get close to him. He said:

“I didn’t know the game was on. But I later checked the scorecard and sent the picture of that to Finchy (Aaron Finch) and said, ‘What is going on here? He is batting on a completely different planet! Look at everyone else’s scores and look at this bloke scoring 111 off 50,”

He added: “The next I watched the full replay of the innings the next day and the embarrassing thing is that he is so much better than everyone else. It’s almost hard to watch. No one we have got is close to that.”

Further, Glenn Maxwell jokingly said that it will be too costly to get Suryakumar Yadav to play in the upcoming edition of the Big Bash League. Maxwell said: “We don’t have enough money. There is no chance. We will have to sack every player and the sack every contracted player of Cricket Australia(laughs),”

There’s no doubt in the fact that Suryakumar would generate huge interest from BBL franchises if he opts to play in BBL. However, in order to do so, he will have to retire from Indian cricket and IPL. According to the BCCI’s rules, no active player can be a part of any foreign league until he is part of Team India, IPL, and the Indian domestic circuit. For the unversed, Unmukt Chand is the only Indian to play BBL. He moved to the USA in the year 2021.

Meanwhile, SKY will be next seen in action in the upcoming ODI series against New Zealand. However, he has been rested for the ODI series against Bangladesh.
