GT vs LSG: Rashid Khan Takes An Unbelievable Running Catch Of Kyle Mayers

When on the field, Rashid Khan is always contributing to his team’s cause. If not with the bat or ball, the Afghanistan superstar shows his rapidness and athleticism in the fielding department to pull off stunner after stunner.

The Gujarat Titans‘ superstar picked up one such magnificent running catch to dismiss the Lucknow Super Giants opener Kyle Mayers and break off the big 88-run partnership between Kyle Mayers and Quinton de Kock.

On the second ball of the 9th over, Mohit Sharma banged it in short and in the stumps’ line to Kyle Mayers. The ball seamed away from the left-hander considerably. The ball also didn’t bounce as much as Mayers expected it to, but he went through with his pull shot and didn’t connect it properly, the ball flying off the upper splice of the bat toward the legside.

Since there wasn’t enough power in the shot, the ball was about to fall short of Rashid Khan who was sprinting in from deep square leg. However, Rashid put in a dive and expanded both his hands toward the ball, and managed to get both of his hands under the ball. Despite falling on the ground, he managed to keep hold of the ball and completed a spectacular take.

Rashid Khan was pumped up after taking an astonishing catch, and so was Mark Howard in the commentary box.

Earlier, Krunal Pandya had won the toss and elected to field first. That decision however didn’t pay off as GT amassed 227/2 on the back of strong performances from its openers: Saha scored 81 off 43 balls and Gill scored 94* off 51 balls.

Teams:

Lucknow Super Giants (Playing XI): Quinton de Kock(w), Kyle Mayers, Deepak Hooda, Krunal Pandya(c), Marcus Stoinis, Nicholas Pooran, Swapnil Singh, Yash Thakur, Ravi Bishnoi, Mohsin Khan, Avesh Khan

Gujarat Titans (Playing XI): Wriddhiman Saha(w), Shubman Gill, Hardik Pandya(c), Vijay Shankar, David Miller, Abhinav Manohar, Rahul Tewatia, Rashid Khan, Mohit Sharma, Noor Ahmad, Mohammed Shami
