For a few hours, fans really thought that Shubman Gill was going to leave Gujarat Titans, the IPL franchise with which he won his maiden IPL trophy earlier this year and was their big contributor.
The Titans stumped everyone when they sent out a cryptic tweet which had a tone when often teams big adieu to their players.
On Saturday afternoon, the Gujarat Titans’ official Twitter account wrote: “It’s been a journey to remember. We wish you all the best for your next endeavour, @ShubmanGill!” To this Gill replied with a couple of emojis.

This led to a spree of speculations and conjectures among fans as to whether Gill really is parting ways with the Titans or not? Or is it just a stunt for an advertisement? Some even thought that Shubman Gill, 23, is getting married and hence the Titans wished him for his “next endeavour”!

After seeing the chaos among netizens, the Titans themselves cleared the air, confirming that their association with Gill will continue.
In a lovely tweet, calming the fans, the Titans wrote: “Twitterverse, Gill will always be a part of our P.S.: It’s not what you think, but we’re loving the theories. Keep it going!”

Fans are now certain that the previous tweet was regarding some advertisement campaign, or maybe this is just a prank.
Shubman Gill has made his opportunities count with Team India in ODIs
Shubman Gill is having a terrific time in the past few months. Not retained by KKR, Gujarat Titans snapped him up as one of the three picks before the auction.
The young opener played a significant role in Titans’ maiden IPL title win in their debut season – scoring 483 runs in the tournament with the help of 4 fifties; in the final vs Rajasthan Royals, Gill played a crucial hand of 45* runs to see his side off in a tricky run-chase of 131.
He the got chances in India’s ODI side and has now bagged two Man of the Series awards: in 3 ODIs vs West Indies, he scored 205 runs with two fifties and a best of 98*; he got to his maiden ODI ton vs Zimbabwe, where he finished with 245 runs in ODIs, with a century and a fifty. Shubman Gill now seems to have fixed his spot as a back-up opener in ODIs for India.
