India’s swashbuckling batsman Suryakumar Yadav, who is hailed as India’s MR. 360 degree, once again managed to impress one and all with his crucial knock in the first of the ongoing T20I against Sri Lanka. Riding on the golden knock of Suryakumar Yadav with the bat and the brilliant performance of Bhuvneshwar Kumar with the ball, the Indian cricket team was able to bounce back into the game and steal the game from Sri Lankans.
The visitors were asked to bat first after they lost the toss. However, team India failed to give a solid start to their team as they lost their opener, Prithvi Shaw, on the first ball of the innings.
However, the skipper and experienced opener Shikhar Dhawan maintained his calm from the other end alongwith Suryakumar Yadav, who looked determined to take India to a competitive total. Skipper Shikhar Dhawan formed a brilliant partnership of 62 runs to provide a solid launchpad for the team but the latter’s dismissal surely cost India 20 extra runs.
Suryakumar’s knock of 50 runs off 34 balls, was laced with 5 fours and 2 sixes. It was his stunning shots that helped Kishan and Hardik to launch the final assault and take the target a bit higher.
Meanwhile, as soon as his knock came to end, fans and the entire cricketing fraternity were all praises for the cricketer. However, former Indian cricketer Harbhajan Singh stole all the attention with his controversial statement.
Well, in an interview, Harbhajan Singh compared Suryakumar Yadav with the modern legends — skipper Virat Kohli and vice-captain Rohit Sharma and claimed that SKY is the most talented batsman after these two. He said:
“After Rohit and Virat, Surya is the most talented batsman in India, across formats”
