Indian cricketer Harbhajan Singh believes that India’s young fast bowler Mohammed Siraj will soon become India’s number 1 fast bowler. Talking his followers on his YouTube channel, Harbhajan said that India’s present batch of fast bowlers are all world class, but he gave a special mention to Mohammed Siraj and called him “an outstanding bowler”.

Harbhajan Singh seemed to be very impressed with Mohammed Siraj, and why not after seeing the way he bowled that opening spell in New Zealand’s first innings of the second Test match. The ball he bowled to Ross Taylor was absolutely unplayable and many believe that it was the ‘ball of the year‘.

Siraj, when he started his first spell at the Wankhede Stadium, looked in great rhythm and most of his deliveries were almost unplayable for the Kiwi batters. He swung the ball at a very good pace and kept bowling a teasing line that put New Zealand batters in two minds; whether to commit forward or stay back.

Harbhajan Singh spoke about Siraj’s genius with the ball and said that he will soon become India’s number 1 bowler.

“Mohammed Shami, Jasprit Bumrah, and Mohammed Siraj… what an outstanding bowler. In the time to come, he will be India’s No. 1 bowler. With him, I feel Shardul Thakur will return because in South Africa you will require a seamer who can bat as well. Along with them, we shall certainly see R Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja playing and perhaps, Axar Patel could also be seen operating with them,” Harbhajan said on his YouTube channel.

OUR VIEW: We agree with Harbhajan Singh’s views on Mohammed Siraj and strongly suggest that he should play in every Test match for India, irrespective of the playing conditions. He should be picked ahead of Ishant Sharm and Umesh Yadav at any cost and must feature in the top 3 category that includes Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Shami at the top two spots.
