Harbhajan Singh Gave A Brilliant Reply To Shoaib Akhtar On His ‘3-Match Series’ Proposal

Former Pakistani fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar had recently said that India and Pakistan should play cricket match to raise funds for the fight against Coronavirus. He believes that India and Pakistan should play a 3-match series in the UAE and the funds collected from that series should be used in the fight against Corona, by both the nations.

His idea was totally slammed by the former Indian captain Kapil Dev. Kapil replied by saying that India has enough money.

“He is entitled to his opinion but we don’t need to raise the money. We have enough. For us, what is important right now is that how our authorities work together to deal with this crisis. I am still seeing a lot of blame game on television from the politicians and that needs to stop,” Dev told PTI.

Recently, Harbhajan Singh, who is one of the leading wicket-takers for India in international cricket, also spoke on this matter and said cricket is the last thing on his mind at the moment and there are many other ways of raising funds. Harbhajan, who is helping 5000 underprivileged families in his native Jalandhar, said that no one should think about cricket and sports at this hour.

“See cricket is the last thing on my mind at the moment. I am not even thinking about it. There are other ways to raise funds. It is not necessary to hold a cricket match. I don’t think anyone should think about sports and cricket at this hour. These are small things. Lives are at stake…understand that,” he was quoted as saying by Times Now.

We completely agree with Harbhajan Singh’s views on this topic. The only way to stop the spread of coronavirus in social distancing and it would be foolish to even think about playing a cricket series.
