India’s star all-rounder Hardik Pandya, who has been missing from the action for over two months now, has found himself at the receiving end of trolling after his recent statements on his comeback.

Hardik Pandya’s lack of fitness has affected team India’s combination at last year’s T20 World Cup as the Indian side badly missed the presence of an additional bowler in the squad. The Indian cricket team had endured their worst ever outing in the world cup event.

However, the humiliating defeat has fuelled more motivation than ever in Hardik Pandya, who is now looking forward to making a powerful comeback. Recently, in an interview, Hardik, who has been struggling with his fitness issues, revealed that he wants to channel all his energy into winning a World Cup for team India, which is his biggest obsession. He said:

“My main aim is to be at my peak when the World Cup happens. All my training, planning, preparation is keeping the World Cup in mind. I want to win the World Cup for the country. It will make me really happy and proud.”

He added:  “It is like an obsession with me. IPL will give me a very good preparatory platform for the World Cup but all the hard work ultimately is for the Indian team and the World Cup,”

When asked about whether he is in a good space right now, Hardik Pandya said: “Yes, I am. I am training hard and gearing up to be at my peak for the country. I am looking at the IPL to be back as an all-rounder, that’s the ambition. That’s what I want to do and that’s what I will do unless something goes drastically wrong”

Meanwhile, the statements didn’t go down well with many, who started trolling Hardik Pandya left, right, and center for taking his spot in India’s playing XI for granted. There were many who schooled Pandya to prove his worth before playing for team India in the World Cup.

He’s already taking his place for granted in the team as if Indian team has no bench strength/no alternatives for him.
