Mumbai Indians’s decision to drop Hardik Pandya from their list of retained players, came as a big shock to many of their fans. Pandya is horribly out of touch and recovering from an injury, but he is still one of the best all-rounders in India and he has a lot of cricket left in him.
Over the years, Hardik Pandya has been one of Mumbai Indians’s go-top option as a finisher and he has done a great job for them, baring the last season in which he was struggling with his fitness.
Many pundits believe that Hardik Pandya was dropped because he hasn’t really been bowling and that takes one aspect of his game away from the equation. But, the kind of batsman Hardik Pandya is, teams would want to pick him purely for his batting skills. And, Pandya has said that he is working on his fitness and he would start bowling like before after he recovers fully.
On Thursday, Hardik Pandya wrote a heartfelt, emotional post for the Mumbai Indians family and their fans. In a short message that he shared on social media, Pandya wrote that he will carry the memories created with Mumbai Indians for the rest of his life. He also wrote that the franchise helped him grow not just as a cricketer, but also as a person.
