Hardik Pandya Set to Lead India in Afghanistan T20I Series - Reports

After recovering from an ankle injury sustained in the 2023 ODI World Cup, Hardik Pandya is set for a quick comeback. Earlier concerns about an extended absence impacting his participation in the T20I series against Afghanistan and the IPL 2024 have been dispelled. A source confirmed to TOI that Pandya has recuperated well and is ready to lead the Indian team in the upcoming T20I series, commencing on January 11 against Afghanistan.

Hardik Is All Set To Lead Team India Against Afghanistan

This news comes as a relief to fans and franchises, particularly the Mumbai Indians, who recently made Pandya their captain after a noteworthy trade from the Gujarat Titans. Pandya’s ankle injury, initially causing uncertainty about his immediate cricketing future, has been mitigated by his swift recovery. This assures his active participation in the upcoming cricketing events.

“He has completely recovered from his ankle injury. He has been training every day, he should definitely be fit for the IPL, and possibly the Afghanistan T20Is,” sources said as quoted by TOI.

Dismissing speculations of an extended absence, sources underline that with almost four months until IPL 2024, any talk of Hardik Pandya missing the tournament is premature and unfounded.
