After a top-class bowling show from the Mumbai Indians‘ bowling, opener Ishan Kishan gave a match-winning performance to guide Mumbai Indians to an 8-wicket win over Rajasthan Royals at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium to keep the hopes alive in the race to playoffs in IPL 2021.

Mumbai Indians, which is one of the most successful teams in the IPL history, having won the title five times, incurred their worst seasons in the ongoing 2021 edition of the Indian Premier League. However, they showed immense fighting spirit in the match against Rajasthan Royals, which was the must-win game for the five-time champions.

Rohit Sharma-led Mumbai Indians chased down the target of 91 runs in the ninth over of their innings. Opting to field first, Mumbai Indians’ bowlers did an incredible job with the ball. James Neesham, Nathan Coulter, and Jasprit Bumrah stole the show with the ball as they gave a hard time to the Rajasthan Batsmen.

While Jimmy Neesham got three wickets, on the other hand, Jasprit Bumrah got two wickets. Royals’ batsmen failed to find the momentum throughout their innings and were eventually bundled up after scoring only 90 runs.

Later, riding on the match-winning fifty of Ishan Kishan, Mumbai Indians successfully chased the target of only 90 runs. Ishan Kishan, who was going through a tough phase with the bat, scored a knock of 50 runs off 25 balls, smashing 5 boundaries and 3 sixes.

Meanwhile, fans were all praises for Ishan Kishan’s comeback into the form. Among many, Mumbai Indians’ star cricketer, Hardik Pandya also took to his Twitter and hailed the performance of Ishan. In his Tweet, he expressed his happiness and said that he is proud of him. He wrote:

“You knocked it out of the park literally, Ishu baby ? Proud of you ❤ @ishankishan51″
