Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar has been very vocal about the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic. The actor has been constantly appealing to the fans to stay inside and stay safe and has been spreading awareness via his social media platforms.
However, in one of the biggest gestures by a Bollywood celebrity ever, on Saturday, Akshay Kumar donated a whopping amount of Rs 25 crores in PM-CARES Fund for the fight against the dangerous Coronavirus pandemic.
Akshay Kumar took to his twitter and announced about his decision of donation Rs 25 crores from his savings to PM Modi’s relief fund. He wrote:
“This is that time when all that matters is the lives of our people. And we need to do anything and everything it takes. I pledge to contribute Rs 25 crores from my savings to @narendramodiji’s PM-CARES Fund. Let’s save lives, Jaan hai toh jahaan hai.”

Akshay Kumar’s wife and former Bollywood actress Twinkle Khanna also took to her twitter, where she revealed the thoughts of the actor before he made a whopping donation. She wrote:
“The man makes me proud. When I asked him if he was sure as it was such a massive amount and we needed to liquidate funds, he just said, ‘ I had nothing when I started and now that I am in this position, how can I hold back from doing whatever I can for those who have nothing.”

The tweet went viral in no time, with people and celebrities hailing the actor for his contribution. Indian all-rounder Hardik Pandya also took to his twitter and joined the bandwagon.
