There have been a lot of speculations about the future of former Indian captain, MS Dhoni in the international arena. He has not returned to the cricket field ever since.

Although he made himself unavailable for international cricket, Dhoni was set to play in IPL 2020 for the Chennai Super Kings. In fact, IPL 2020 was going to begin this Sunday with Chennai battling the Mumbai Indians.

Unfortunately, because of the COVID-19 outbreak in the world, the BCCI had no other option but to postpone the league. The board will make an official decision on 15th April but given how everyone has been locked down inside their homes for 21 days, it is unlikely that the fans will get an IPL tournament this year.

Famous cricket analyst, Harsha Bhogle has got a gut feeling that we may have seen the last of MS Dhoni in the Indian jersey. Talking to leading sports daily on 27th March (Friday), Bhogle said that it was his gut feeling which tells him that Dhoni has no ambitions to play for India again.

The cricket expert further stated that to play cricket in October, November was beyond him hence, he could have played the T20 World Cup only if he had a great IPL. He signed off by saying that although he does not wish to play for India, Dhoni was very much interested to play for the fans in the IPL.

With the Coronavirus situation not coming under control, it will be interesting to see if we get an IPL tournament this year or not. MS Dhoni’s future still hangs in the air as the world awaits official confirmation from his end.
