T20 World Cup 2022: Harsha Bhogle Picks Top 2 Contenders; No Place For India

Even though Team India are the number 1 ranked ICC T20I team in the world, and they haven’t lost a single bilateral T20I series since last year’s T20 World Cup, renowned commentator Harsha Bhogle, the Men In Blue are not the top two best sides going into the this month’s T20 World Cup in Australia.

For Harsha Bhogle, it is Aaron Finch’s Australia and Jos Buttler’s England teams who are the top two strongest sides heading into the showpiece event in Australia, starting October 16.

Before that, Australia and England will compete in what promises to be an exciting 3-T20I series starting Sunday, October 9 in Perth. The second and third T20Is on Wednesday and Friday will be in Canberra before both the teams part ways for the warm-up matches prior to the Super 12 round, which will kick off on October 22.

They will again face off against each other during the Super 12 round. Last year, England had thrashed Australia in the Super 12 round courtesy of a mauling from Jos Buttler, however, Finch’s side went on to win the T20 World Cup in the UAE.

Will hosts Australia be successful in defending their T20 World Cup title?

Harsha Bhogle took to Twitter to show his excitement for the mouth-watering series between England and Australia, and while doing so the 61-year-old commentator also revealed his top two sides where India didn’t find a place.

“The three #AUSvENG T20 matches could well become a show of strength. I believe those are the two top rated sides going into the #T20WorldCup,” Bhogle tweeted.

Meanwhile, India who have defeated England, Australia, South Africa and West Indies in T20I series this year, departed for Australia earlier this week. They will play a couple of warm-up matches before their Super 12 match against Pakistan on October 23 at the MCG.
