The Indian cricket team defeated Australia by 6 wickets in the third and deciding T20I in Hyderabad. Former Indian captain and batting maestro Virat Kohli played a stunning knock of 63 runs while Suryakumar Yadav hit 69 as India chased down a 187-run target on the penultimate ball of the game.
While Virat Kohli was in supreme touch during his knock, on the other hand, Suryakumar Yadav still put everyone’s effort to shade with his brilliant strokeplay on the night. The Indian side was reeling at 30 for 2 at one stage but the Virat-Suryakumar duo added 104 runs for the third wicket to keep the momentum going.
After Suryakumar Yadav was dismissed, Virat Kohli switched gears and took charge of the game, however, he also fell in the last over before Hardik Pandya could give the finishing touch. The Indian side needed only four runs off the final two balls to win the game and this is when Hardik Pandya smashed a stunning boundary to cap off the game.
Talking about Kohli’s knock, in order to put pressure on him, the Australia captain Aaron Finch had Adam Zampa on in the third over but Kohli was in his elements last night. He started off with a stunning drive past cover off the leg-spinner before attacking Josh Hazlewood in the 6th over to complete his half-century with a six and a four. His amazing knock of 63 runs was laced with 3 fours and 4 sixes.
Meanwhile, Virat’s brilliant effort with the bat has earned him praises from all corners. From cricketers and experts to fans, everyone is taking to social media to hail the brilliance of Virat. Among many, famous commentator and cricket analyst Harsha Bhogle also took to his social media and shared a special tweet for the former captain.
In his Tweet, Harsha explained why Virat’s knock was a special one. He wrote:“While Sky was in, Virat was taking singles. As soon as he got out Virat reverts to playing the big shot.”
