In a heart-wrenching moment for the Chennai Super Kings and Suresh Raina fans, the former Indian cricketer has pulled out of the latest edition of Indian Premier League, citing personal reasons.
This was confirmed by the CEO of Chennai Super Kings in his latest tweet. The sudden departure of Raina has polarized the cricketing canon into three factions. One believes that Raina has tested positive and hence wanted to pull out of the Indian Premier League. The second believes that this is an impact of the unhealthy bio-bubble, questioning its existence. The final faction claims that Raina was petrified of the consequences, given the fact that one CSK bowler has already tested positive and this may have a devastating impact on the cricketer.
Whatsoever is the reason for Raina’s departure this is a massive blow to the aspirations of Chennai Super Kings. Though they have ample players t fill in the stead of the hard-hitting left-hander, chances of him returning are zero zip nada.
Harsha Bhogle expressed his shock and sadness taking to Twitter. His post read, “Heart goes out to @ImRaina who is having to miss out on the #Dream11IPL for personal reasons. Having spoken to him recently on @cricbuzz, I know how desperate he was to do well. Huge blow to @ChennaiIPL. They have the resources to recover but then Raina and CSK are so intertwined.”
This is indeed a hardcore fact that left Chennai rattled even more because Raina and CSK ate inseparable names. Right since the team’s inception, he was always a part of this three-time IPL winning team. Unfortunately, in a span of 13 years, Raina will be out of the Indian Premier League for the first time.
Though social media has already devolved into a storm to find out the reason, the main man has kept mum and requested his privacy to be respected.
