Virat Kohli hasn’t had a great time playing against New Zealand in the ongoing three-match ODI series. The Indian skipper has failed once again to leave a mark with his bat in the ongoing third and final ODI match against New Zealand at Eden Park, Auckland.
Virat Kohli fell cheaply and returned back to pavilion after scoring 9 runs off 12 balls he played to end ODI series against New Zealand. Virat’s tally has turned out to be the lowest for him as captain in a bilateral ODI series as he could only score a total of 75 runs in all three matches. After smashing a half-century in the first ODI, Virat scored only 15 and 9 runs in the next two games.
He averaged 25 in this series which is also the lowest one since the 16.33 he averaged in the ODI series against Bangladesh in the year 2015. As a result, Team India has also struggled a lot and are trailing at 0-2.

Meanwhile, Harsha Bhogle, the renowned cricket journalist, wasn’t happy with the performance of Virat Kohli in the ongoing ODI series and reckoned the fact that Virat Kohli has scaled new heights in the game of cricket by playing risk-free cricket and how he hasn’t seen the skipper in his famous aggressive manner at the start of an innings. Taking to his Twitter, Harsha wrote:
“Ben a while since I’ve seen Kohli bat like this at the start of an innings. A slog over mid-wicket, an upper cut…. His greatness as a white ball batsmen has come with cutting out risk and playing fantastic traditional cricket.”
