It was a Ben Stokes’ show throughout the just-concluded Test series at the Old Trafford, Manchester between England and West Indies. England all-rounder Ben Stokes is leaving no stone unturned to showcase why he is regarded as one of the most versatile cricketers going around.

On Day 5 of the 2nd Test match, Ben Stokes ended up with 254 runs across two innings — 176 in the first innings and on Day 5, Ben Stokes took only 36 balls to reach his fifty as he helped England cricket team post some quick runs on the scoreboard.

He remained unbeaten on 78 off just 57 balls after resuming his overnight score of 16 smashed 3 sixes and 4 fours in an important knock on Monday morning. Besides this, he took three wickets and one catch.

Interestingly, Ben Stokes opened the batting for England in Tests for the first time ever on Sunday. Ben Stokes’ quickfire 78 runs came days after he hit his slowest Test hundred — in 255 balls.

Meanwhile, social media is filled with amazing reactions and praises from fans and cricketers alike. Popular commentator Harsha Bhogle also joined the bandwagon and came up with some high praise for the England all-rounder.

In his tweet, Harsha Bhogle showered praises on Ben Stokes’ quickfire 78 runs. Praising him, Ben Stokes wrote how with this speed he can even find a vaccine for Coronavirus. Harsha wrote:

“Stokes gets the breakthroughs too. I think he is being wasted on a cricket ground. In this form, he’ll probably find a vaccine for Covid!”

Meanwhile, the series is level at 1-1 lead in the three-test series, which is being played behind closed doors because of the Coronavirus pandemic. The third Test will be played in Manchester in the same manner.
