The South African team is barely showing any weak link in the World Cup 2023. From power-packed batting to heavyweight bowling, and now their lightning-quick fielding was embodied by a sensational catch from Heinrich Klaasen to dismiss Netherlands opener Vikramjit Singh.

South Africa and the Netherlands met in their group-stage encounter on Tuesday at the HPCA Stadium in Dharamsala. The Proteas have two wins in two games while the Dutch have two losses in as many games.

This match was chiseled down to 43 overs per side because two hours of time was lost due to rain in Dharamsala. South Africa skipper Temba Bavuma won the toss and elected to bowl first.

South Africa’s spearhead fast bowler, Kagiso Rabada, made the first strike by dismissing opener Vikramjit Singh with a good, well-directed short ball. The credit for the wicket goes as much to Heinrich Klaasen for his superb backward running catch.

Vikramjit was very late on his pull shot and top-edged it behind. Standing at first slip, Heinrich Klaasen made a sprint backward while also keeping an eye on the ball, and eventually completed the catch by putting in a dive. The ICC uploaded the video of this amazing catch from Klaasen.

Talking about the game, the Proteas are bossing it with the ball, chipping in with regular wickets. At the time of writing, Netherlands are going nowhere with their innings at the score of 132/6 in 32 overs, and only 11 overs remaining more to play. Kagiso Rabada and Marco Jansen have taken two wickets each so far, while Gerald Coetzee and Lungi Ngidi have one wicket each to show at the moment.
