Fans of Punjab Kings and KL Rahul can take a breath of relief as KL Rahul has successfully undergone surgery for appendicitis on Monday. Well, the skipper of Punjab Kings was recently hospitalized ahead of their clash against Delhi Capitals.
The news of the same was announced by Punjab Kings via their official social media account, where they revealed that the skipper KL Rahul complained of severe abdomen pain and after diagnosis, it was revealed that he has been suffering from acute appendicitis. The statement by Punjab Kings read:
“KL Rahul complained of a severe abdomen pain last night and after not responding to medication, he was taken to the emergency room for further tests which revealed that he was diagnosed with acute appendicitis. It will be resolved surgically and for safety measures he has been transferred to the hospital for the same,”

The skipper was taken to Mumbai via charter plan, where he underwent t laparoscopic appendectomy, a minimally invasive surgery. The doctors are understood to have told the team management that KL Rahul can restart all the activities after a week’s rest.
As per the source, Punjab Kings’ team management will now consult with the IPL to determine KL Rahul’s quarantine period and other protocols that the cricketer needs to follow in order for him to re-enter the bio-bubble of the team and start playing in the ongoing IPL 2021 again.
Talking about the team, Punjab Kings have announced Mayank Agarwal as the stand-in skipper of the team in Rahul’s absence. The opening batsman rose to the occasion in his first match as the skipper as he smashed a powerful knock of 99* off 58 balls against DC on Sunday.
