With the IPL 2022 mega-auctions done and dusted, fans around the world are waiting anxiously for the upcoming edition of the Indian Premier League to kickstart. What adds more to the excitement is the fact that this time it will be a 10-team event, with two new teams – Lucknow Super Giants and Gujarat Titans, joining the league.

Also, this could be the final mega auction as the BCCI is mulling to adopt the football-style player transfer from next season onwards, reportedly.

Meanwhile, as the 2022 edition of the Indian Premier League is just around the corner, we will get some basic facts cleared.

IPL 2022 Venue:

As per a report by Cricbuzz, Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium, Brabourne Stadium and DY Patil Stadium will be hosting 55 matches of the mega-tournament while MCA International Stadium in Pune is expected to host 15 matches on the league stage.

IPL 2022 Format & Rules:

The 2022 edition of the Indian Premier League could be a 74-match format with two groups of 5 teams each rather than the current 94-match league format will be in place. Also, the current 54-day season might extend to a 60-day season.

-All Teams Will Be Divided Into 2 Groups Consisting Of 5 Teams Each
-All Teams Will Play 14 Matches
-A Respective Team Will Play 2 Matches against each team in the same group
-They will Also Play 1 Match Against each team of the opposition group
