World Test Championship: The Indian cricket team gave an all-around performance and impressed the cricketing fraternity with their dominant show against New Zealand in Mumbai Test that was played at the iconic Wankhede Stadium. Team India registered their biggest ever Test match win as they thrashed New Zealand with a huge margin of 372-run, which also helped them seal the 2-match series with 1-0.

This was India’s third victory of the current ICC World Test Championship (2021-2023) cycle. Let’s have a look at how India’s win over New Zealand has impacted the points table of the World Test Championship.

After this impressive win, the Indian side is currently placed at third position in the WTC points table and is only behind Sri Lanka and Pakistan. The Virat Kohli-led side has won three of the six Tests they have played so far, with one resulting in a draw and two ending in a draw. These 6 games were spread across two series. India has a total of 42 points and their Percentage of Points (PCT) is 58.33.

Talking about Pakistan, they are currently placed at second position in the WTC points table with 2 wins and 1 defeat so far for a total of 24 points and a PCT of 66.66. On the other hand, Sri Lanka is currently sitting at the top position in the points table with won both the games they have played so far. They have a PCT of 100.

Defending world champions New Zealand are sixth at the points table with one defeat and a draw from two games they have played so far. They have a total of four points and a PCT of 16.66.
