Here’s How Much Money Each IPL Franchise Is Left With After Retention

The eight franchises have finally revealed the names of their retained players ahead of the IPL 2022 auctions. As per the rules, each of the eight teams had the option of retaining a maximum of four players – a maximum of 3 Indians and 2 overseas players. Also, this time there weren’t any RTM cards allowed for the 8 franchises.

For the unversed, retaining players was expected to cost all the franchises a hefty amount if the team decides to use all 4 options of retention. As per the rules, the first chosen player will get INR 16 Crores, the 2nd will fetch INR 12 Crores, the 3rd will get a sum of INR 8 Crores, and the 4th will receive INR 6 Crores for their services.

Meanwhile, the names of the retained players are here and they have been bought for some hefty amounts. Here, in this article, we bring you the remaining amount of money the franchises have in their purse ahead of the IPL 2022 mega-auctions.

Remaining Purse Value Of All 8 Teams:

Royal Challengers Bangalore:

After retaining Virat Kohli (15 crores), Glenn Maxwell (11 crores), and Mohammed Siraj (7 crores), RCB now has INR 57 crores remaining in their purse ahead for IPL 2022 mega auction.

Purse amount deducted: 33 crores

Remaining purse amount: 57 crores

Mumbai Indians: 

Mumbai Indians have retained their skipper Rohit Sharma (16 crores), Jasprit Bumrah (12 crores), Suryakumar Yadav (8 crores), and Kieron Pollard (6 crores). After retention, Mumbai Indians now have a purse worth 48 crores for IPL 2022 mega-auctions.

Purse amount deducted: 42 crores

Remaining purse amount: 48 crores

Chennai Super Kings:

Chennai Super Kings have decided to retain their skipper MS Dhoni (12 crores), along with the young talent Ruturaj Gaikwad (6 crores), Moeen Ali (8 crores), and Ravindra Jadeja( 16 crores). Now CSK will go into the IPL 2022 mega-auctions with an amount of 48 Crore in their purse.

Purse amount deducted: 42 crores

Remaining purse amount: 48 crores

Delhi Capitals:

Delhi Capitals have announced their list of retained players, which includes Rishabh Pant (16 crores), Axar Patel (12 crores), Prithvi Shaw (8 crores), and Anrich Nortje (6 crores). They will now enter IPL 2022 mega-auctions with a purse worth  47.5 crores.

Purse amount deducted: 42 crores.

Remaining purse amount:47.5 crores.

Sunrisers Hyderabad:

Sunrisers Hyderabad has retained the services of their skipper Kane Williamson (14 crore), Abdul Samad (4 crores), and Umran Malik (4 crores). They will go into the IPL 2022 with an amount of INR 68 crores in their purse.

Purse amount deducted: 22 crores

Remaining purse amount: 68 Crore

Rajasthan Royals:

Rajasthan Royals have retained the services of Sanju Samson (14 crores), Jos Buttler (10 crores), and Yashasvi Jaiswal (4 crores). RR now has 62 crores left in their purse.

Purse amount deducted: 28 crores.

Remaining purse amount: 62 crores.

Kolkata Knight Riders:

Kolkata Knight Riders have retained Andre Russell (16 crores), Varun Chakravarthy (8 crores), Venkatesh Iyer (8 crores), and Sunil Narine (6 crores). They now have 48 crores left.

Purse amount deducted: 40 crores

Remaining purse amount: 48 crores.

Punjab Kings:

Punjab Kings have decided to retain the services of only their star opener Mayank Agarwal (14 crores) and Arshdeep Singh (4 crores). They will go with an amount of 72 crores in the mega-auction.

Purse amount deducted: 18 crores

Remaining purse amount: 72 crores.
