The first innings didn’t had a great start as Ambatti Rayudu had to go back to pavilion. The opener, Shane Watson scored 39 off 31 runs. Ambatti Rayudu, the star player failed to score great numbers unlike his previous performances and scored only 12 runs off 9 bowls he faced. Shane Watson and Ambatti Rayudu both of them were sent back to pavilion by Jofra Archer, the talented bowler of Rajasthan Royals.

Suresh Raina, the star player of the team and the highest run scorer of IPL, scored 52 runs off the 35 balls, scoring 6 fours and 1 six. He was sent back to pavilion after he was caught out by Stuart Binny.

Sam Billings was given run-out by Joss Buttler, after he scored 27 runs off 22 balls. MS Dhoni remained unbeaten at 33 runs which he made in 23 balls.
