Sometime ago, the cricket board of India, BCCI made a new rule in which they restricted the WAGs of the cricketers from accompanying them on their tour. However, the skipper of Indian cricket team, Virat Kohli is not happy with this decision and for the same reason he has requested the BCCI to change the rule and allow the wives of of the players to accompany them on all overseas tour.

According to reports Virat Kohli  first approached a top BCCI officer with the issue. Virat Kohli was assured that his message will be conveyed to the Committee of Administrators. Now the current rules allows the WAGs of the cricketers but only for 15 days after the first two weeks of 45 days tour board.

Recently, when the same was asked to Gautam Gambhir during an interview he said that as long as their game is going on there shouldn’t be any problem and it completely depends on them. He said :

“It depends on individuals and players to decide if they want wives for the entire tour or no. If they are performing well, then nothing should stop them,”

Gautam Gambhir also spoke about the winning the ICC World Cup next year. He also said that he can’t call any favorites now. He said :

“India is playing well now but can’t really predict anything for World Cup. There are some very good teams like South Africa, Australia and England. Can’t call any favourites,”

Well, the next overseas tour for India will be the tour of Australia, which starts after the conclusion of the West Indies series. Only time will tell that BCCI will allow the WAGs of the cricketers.
