The Indian cricket team led by Virat Kohli took part in a great initiative on the second day of the ongoing 2nd Test match at the iconic Lord’s Stadium. All the players were seen donning the red caps and soon it became one of the most discussed topics on social media.

Well, the players came out with Red Caps to show their support to the Ruth Strauss Cancer Foundation, which was started by former England skipper Andrew Strauss, after his wife Ruth Strauss passed away in 2018 after her long battle with lung cancer.

After her death, Strauss decided to start a foundation in his wife’s name. He reached out to the Australian great Glenn McGrath, who also went through the same circumstances. McGrath’s wife Jane passed away after her battle with breast cancer.

Strauss set up the foundation in his wife’s name. He decided to start this noble cause in order to help the families facing the death of a parent. This foundation also drives the need for more research work on lung cancer caused by non-smoking.

Yesterday, the second day of the iconic Lord’s match was celebrated as ‘Red for Ruth’ day. Apart from the cricketers from both sides, the set of broadcasters, presenters, and other staff were seen wearing the red attire.

“Happy to be a part of #RedForRuth #TeamIndia,” BCCI tweeted while replying to a Lord’s Cricket Ground tweet.

Meanwhile, talking about the Lord’s Test, the Indian cricket team was dominating England before their wickets started to fell in a row on the 2nd day of the Test. On Day 1, KL Rahul’s classy century and Rohit Sharma’s 83 runs helped India to post a competitive total on the scoreboard.
