Here’s Why Fans Are Unhappy With Virat Kohli

The Indian skipper Virat Kohli is hailed as one of the modern legends of the game. Over the years, the Indian skipper has made and broke several records. However, Kohli has been highly unlucky in some matters, which are beyond his control.

The Indian skipper faces disappointment more often than not whenever he walks out to flip the coin. According to mathematics, the probability of the coin landing in someone’s favor is ½. However, seems like the figures seem to differ when it comes to the Indian skipper. This year, Virat has led Team India in seven Test matches this year and lost the toss in six of them.

Apart from the Toss, the Indian captain has been highly unlucky with his DRS reviews as well. Many believe that this is because of the fact that he gets influenced and cajoled into doing so very easily by his teammates as he can’t say no to them.

Infact, the same has been witnessed in the two Tests against England in the ongoing five-Test match series in England. In the first Tests, India lost a review when Joe Root had already scored 97 runs. Siraj was able to convince Kohli to take the DRS review. However, in the replay, it was seen that the impact was outside.

As team India exhausted all their reviews, they were not able to use any afterward when they actually felt that they had a chance of success.

In the second Test match at the iconic Lord’s Stadium, Mohammed Siraj was once again the culprit as he managed to convince Virat Kohli to take the DRS. It happened in the 21st over of the innings, when Siraj struck Root on the pads, and Siraj convinced Virat to take the review, while Rishabh Pant was trying to stop Kohli from taking the review.

Meanwhile, a popular Twitter user named Johns took to his Twitter and shared an important stat which revealed that out of the last 24 reviews taken by India, 21 have been successful. Yes, you read that right. The fan wrote:

“In the last 24 reviews taken by India, 21 have been unsuccessful. (Stay by Sony)”
