This season of Indian Premier League is no less than any nightmare for Delhi Daredevils who are sitting at the last position of the scoreboard of the teams.
Delhi Daredevils have lost five matches out of the six matches they have played till now. This season is probably the worst season for Delhi Daredevils.
Gautam Gambhir, who was the captain of Delhi Daredevils has now stepped down from the position of skipper after giving back to back disappointing performances in the match.Talking about stepping down from the position of skipper, Gautam Gambhir said:
“It was my decision. I haven’t contributed enough to the team. I had to take the responsibility being the leader of the ship. I feel it was the right time.”
He added:
“May be I was too desperate to turn things around and that can backfire. It could be the reason. I just couldn’t handle the pressure and when you don’t do that, you have to own that up as a leader,”
The place will now be filled by Shreyas Iyer, the young Indian cricketer who has been giving a lot of brilliant performance in the league and has been trying his best to make his team win the matches but however he was fighting as a lone wolf. After getting appointed as the new captain he said:
“I want to thank the management and my coaches for appointing me as the captain of the team. It is a great honour for me,”
Well, this has really left all the fans of Gautam Gambhir in a state of shock. However, we really wish that the team performs well from now. This is really a huge achievement for Iyer.
