The Indian cricket team is all set to lock its horns with Zimbabwe in the upcoming 3-match ODI series. The Indian squad left for the tour Down Under, which is scheduled to kickstart on August 18. In the absence of senior players, the Indian side will be led by KL Rahul, who has finally returned to the Indian team after recovering from an injury.

Besides regular captain Rohit Sharma, the BCCI has also rested all-rounder Hardik Pandya and batting maestro Virat Kohli. However, for the upcoming tour to Zimbabwe, the Indian side includes such a deadly all-rounder, who will not let captain KL Rahul miss Hardik Pandya.

India’s star all-rounder Shardul Thakur, who snared seven ODI wickets in the recent tour of West Indies, fits in seamlessly as an additional bowler in the Indian squad for the Zimbabwe tour.

Shardul, who is fondly called ‘Lord Thakur’ by his fans, is one of the game’s most improved players over the past two years. Over the years, he has impressed one and all with his wicket-taking abilities in crucial situations and also his batting cameos.
