Here’s Why Ravichandran Ashwin Has Decided To Quit IPL 2021: India is battling the second wave of COVID-19 currently and the whole country has been facing the consequences. On the other hand, the 2021 edition of the Indian Premier League has been going on in full swing. However, the players inside the bio-bubble are also facing anxiety and fear of the destruction caused by the COVID-19 pandemic all around the country.

Saddened by the destructions and death all around the country, Delhi Capitals and India’s star spinner Ravichandran Ashwin has taken a big decision amidst the ongoing season of the Indian Premier League.

Ravi Ashwin, who has been leading the bowling attack of the Delhi Capitals, has decided to pull out of the ongoing edition of the Indian Premier League.

On Monday, after Delhi Capitals‘ super-over win against Sunrisers Hyderabad, R Ashwin took to his Twitter and shared a heartfelt tweet. In his tweet, he said it is heartbreaking to see people’s sufferings in the wake of a deadly second wave that has affected the whole country. He also announced said that he is ‘taking a break’ from IPL 2021.

In his tweet, Ashwin revealed how his family and extended family are batting against COVID-19 and he would like to support them through tough times. He also wrote that he expects to return once things are normal. He wrote:

“I would be taking a break from this years IPL from tomorrow. My family and extended family are putting up a fight against #COVID19 and I want to support them during these tough times. I expect to return to play if things go in the right direction. Thank you @DelhiCapitals”
