Indian star all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja, was recently named as India’s ‘Most Valuable Player’ (MVP) of the year 21st century by Wisden.  Ravindra Jadeja made his debut in the year 2009 and has so far represented India in 49 Tests, 165 ODIs, and 49 T20Is. Over the years, Ravindra Jadeja has contributed a lot to the Indian cricket team and has been noteworthy with the bat, ball, and also while fielding.

Recently, Wisden used ‘CricViz’, which is a detailed analysis tool in cricket to analyze the performance of Ravindra Jadeja.

The MVP rating of Ravindra Jadeja was an astounding 97.3, which was only next to Sri Lanka’s legendary player Muttiah Muralitharan. Jadeja’s rating makes him the second most valuable player of the 21st century.

Here’s Why Ravindra Jadeja Has Been named India’s ‘most valuable player’ of 21st Century

Explaining the reason behind why Ravindra Jadeja is the most valuable player, Cricviz’s Freddie Wilde told Wisden:

“It might come as a surprise to see Ravindra Jadeja, India’s spin-bowling all-rounder, feature as India’s number one. After all, he’s not even always an automatic pick in their Test team. However, when he does play he is picked as a frontline bowler and has batted as high as No.6 – contributing to a very high match involvement,”

He added:

“The 31-year-old’s bowling average of 24.62 is better than Shane Warne’s and his batting average of 35.26 is better than Shane Watson’s. His batting and bowling average differential of 10.62 runs is the second-best of any player this century to have scored more than 1,000 runs and taken 150 wickets. He is an all-rounder of the very highest quality,”

Meanwhile, Ravindra Jadeja was all set to play for his franchise Chennai Super Kings in the 2020 edition of the Indian Premier League, which was suspended indefinitely because of the Coronavirus pandemic.
