Here’s Why Virender Sehwag’s Wife Appeared In Court Recently

Aarti Sehwag, wife of former India opener Virender Sehwag, appeared in Greater Noida’s District Court on Tuesday as she has been involved in a case for more than the last two years.

Aarti was on bail from Additional Court-3 of the District Court. The court had issued a non-bailable warrant against her for not appearing in court since July 2019. What comes as a big relief to the couple is that the court accepted the non-bailable warrant recall application and granted her bail.

In this regard, advocate Virendra Nagar was reported by agniban.com revealing that Aarti had been from the court continuously since July 5, 2019. Her lawyer also did not make any application.

Appearing in the court on Tuesday, Aarti applied for recall of the non-bailable warrant. The judge accepted the request but also instructed Aarti to be disciplined. Aarti had to take bail again due to the issue of the warrant.

It has been learnt that in she had got into this court logjam due to her check getting bounced that was worth INR 2.5 crores. For this, a non-bailable warrant had been issued against Sehwag’s wife.

Aarti Sehwag is the director of SMGK Agro Products, a company that manufactures various products. SMGK, which is based in Ashok Vihar Delhi, had taken an order from Lakhanpal Promoters & Builder Company but could not fulfil it.

Because of this SMGK company had to return money to Lakhanpal promoters. To meet the obligation, SMGK had given a check of Rs 2.5 crore to Lakhanpal promoters. The company placed a check in the bank however that got bounced. Hence, a non-bailable warrant was issued against Aarti regarding this matter.

Speaking about Aarti and Virender Sehwag, the pair had met at their relatives’ wedding when they were kids; Virender Sehwag was just 7 while Aarti was 5 at the wedding of his cousin and Aarti’s aunt.

The pair had grown closer to each other with time, became close friends before deciding to tie the knot in 2004, five years after Sehwag’s international debut, with the blessings of their respective families. The couple has been happily married since and have two sons, Aryavir and Vedant.
